This is apparently one of several novels featuring (to quote a 1910 ad for the book)"the admirable red-haired curate J.J. [whose] wild energy turns a peaceful neighborhood into a hotbed of intrigue and suspicion." J.J. is indeed a wonderful character, a schemer creating mischief wherever he goes. A very funny book, laugh out-loud at times. This has me definitely in search of more by G.A. Birmingham.Product details
